Dodgers hammered, 12-5, by DiamondbacksGibson wins debut as Arizona manager The Diamondbacks (32-48) jumped on Los Angeles starter Hiroki Kuroda from the get go. Kuroda lasted just 1.2 innings and allowed six runs—all earned—on eight hits. After trailing 9-3 after four, the Dodgers did score single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to trim their deficit to 9-5.
However, Arizona responded with three in the seventh to increase their working margin. Leadoff man Chris Young went 3-for-5 with five RBI to lead Arizona. Four other Diamondbacks had two-hit games. Andre Ethier and James Loney each went 3-for-5 for the Dodgers. Edwin Jackson didn’t have his best stuff, but was able to work five innings and even his record at 6-6.
