Dodgers dominate D-Backs, 14-1Los Angeles capitalizes on early Arizona errors Los Angeles (44-36) exploded for six second inning runs and cruised from that point on. It tacked on runs in each of the next four frames to extend its lead to 14-0 after five and a half innings. The Diamondbacks (32-49) committed an unheard of six errors, which led to eight unearned runs being plated. Starter Rodrigo Lopez allowed nine runs—only two earned—in his 3.2 innings of work to fall to 4-7.
LA was led by James Loney’s 3-for-4 effort at the plate. Five other Dodgers had two hits each. Rafael Furcal, Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier all homered. Arizona avoided the shutout when Mark Reynolds homered in the bottom of the ninth. Reynolds was the only Diamondback to record a multi-hit game. Clayton Kershaw collected his eighth win of the year by going 5.2 shutout innings during which he allowed just four hits.
