Indians Rally Too Little-Too Late, Lose to ChiSox 5-4

Cleveland Indians hats & merchandise On an afternoon which saw the Indians commit a season high 4 errors and also saw White Sox starter Mark Buehrle and manager Ozzie Guillen ejected, the Tribe attempted a ninth inning rally which saw them come up just short of beating the White Sox. With the loss today, the Indians have dropped to 4-11 at home for the month of May. They have now lost eight of their last ten games and still sit in last place in the AL Central Division.

The Indians did show some signs of progress in the offensive department today, and had Austin Kearns not struck out with the basses loaded in the ninth, followed by a fly out by Russell Branyan, they may very well have come back to win the game. The four errors proved to be the goat today, and no club that fields the ball that poorly is going to have a very good chance of winning the game.

The Indians have tomorrow off before heading to the Bronx for a weekend series with the New York Yankees. They should have some word by weeks end or early next week on the full extent of center fielder Grady Sizemore’s knee injury and have a better time table for his return as well.
