Matt Garza On 60-day DL and Out of the Season

 

Chicago Cubs hats & merchandise Matt Garza’s 2012 season is officially over.

On Tuesday, the Cubs have transferred the pitching ace from 15-day disabled list to 60-day disabled list. The Cubs manager Dale Sveum has also confirmed that the right-hander would be shut down for the rest of the year. The Cubs have 41 regular-season games left to play

The right-hander has made 18 starts this season, his second year with the Cubs organization. He is 5-7 with a 3.91 ERA over 103 2/3 innings pitched. On July 21, in his start facing the Cardinals in St. Louis, Garza pitched three scoreless innings before he exited from the game. It was reported afterwards that he has injured his triceps. Garza has not pitched since then.
