Too Many Questions

Does this team really have what it takes to repeat as AL Central Champs? Is this team better than last year’s team? Is Ozzie the right man for the job? Are Gavin Floyd and John Danks capable of being front end starters? Is Carlos Quentin able to repeat his 2008 performance? Is Alexei Ramirez in a sophomore slump? Is Josh Fields really the answer at third base? Is Chris Getz the leadoff hitter/second basemen for the next 5 years? Has Jermaine Dye and Jim Thome played their last seasons on the South Side? Can Mark Buehrle win 18 games this year? Can Bartolo Colon stay healthy and win 12 games this year? Is their bullpen good enough to hold onto close games? Will the offense be consistent enough too compete every single game? With 5 draft picks within the first 102, can the White Sox grab some more talent? Will the White Sox ever have a decent center fielder? Will Gordon Beckham, Dayan Viciedo, Tyler Flowers and Aaron Poreda make an impact for the White Sox starting next year?

I know what you are thinking? Brian, what’s with all the questions? Not to mention they are all questions with either yes or no answers. At this stage of the game, with three division titles and a World Series since 2000, all I want is either a yes or no. No games, just can he or can’t he. Will he or won’t he. No excuses, just execution.

The Sox have 16 games remaining this month (already 4-8 in May) against some tough opponents. Road games include the Blue Jays, Angels and the Royals. Home games against the Twins and Pirates. The rest of this month could make or break the White Sox season. We would only be two months in, but falling any farther back would be devastating. They linger two games back of 1 st place but as the season continues, trying to leap 3 teams, (Royals, Tigers and Twins) becomes an impossible task. As the season continues to roll on, each game becomes more crucial, and with each win or loss, our questions will be answered.
