Wolf Bails Out Dodgers in Colorado
The Dodgers entered play Wednesday night with their backs firmly against the wall in Colorado. The Rockies have been treating the Dodgers like their red headed step child the entire month and then some. All the while, cutting into Los Angeles’ massive division lead. The Dodgers desperately needed something to spark some sign of life. They received it in the form of Randy Wolf. On Wednesday, Wolf went to work as usual. Never mind the fact that Colorado had pulled to within only two games of the Dodgers, Wolf put his head down and plowed through the Rockies. The lefty went seven and a third, gave up a single run, and struck out five to earn win number nine on the season. By the time Wolf was gone, Colorado had already let the game slip away.
Game three is huge for both teams. The Rockies are still breathing down the Dodgers’ necks but, Los Angeles answering Wednesday let Colorado know there is still a lot of fight left in them. Either way the game goes Thursday, we are guaranteed to have a great race down the stretch for the NL West crown.
