Cleveland Indians hats & merchandiseThe Indians agreed to terms Tuesday with veteran relief pitcher Jamey Wright, signing him to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training. Wright, who has pitched 14 seasons for the Rockies (twice,) Brewers, Cardinals, Royals (twice,) Giants and Rangers will join the hunt for a spot in the Indians bullpen.

Last season, Wright made a team high 65 appearances for the Royals, posting a record of 3-5 with a 4.33 ERA. In 79 innings he struck out 60 and walked 44 with his opponents posting a .247 average against him. Over his 14 year career, he holds a 82-115 record with a 5.03 ERA. The Indians are hopeful that Wright can provide some stability to their bullpen this Spring. Wright joins a group of young and old arms competing for a spot in the Indians bullpen this spring when the club starts camp in Goodyear, Arizona later this month.
